The mosaic in Tabgha shows a handleless basket full of bread and two large fish. Handleless baskets were called kophinoi in Greek. The same word is used in the Gospel of Mark.

The mosaic from the opposite side of the Sea of Galilee, in Hippos, was discovered by Prof. Michael Eisenberg team. It shows a basket with handles, called spyris in Greek, and a group of small fish. This matches the Greek wording in the Gospel of Mark and may refer to sardines, which live in the eastern part of the Sea of Galilee.

These ideas come from Bargil Pixner who knew the Gospel of Mark in Greek by heart.
